SHAY MALONEY
VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH
Shay is a dedicated professional hockey player with both collegiate and international playing experience. Shay began her journey at Brown University, where she played Division I hockey for three seasons. Over the course of her time at Brown, Shay earned the prestigious Team Most Valuable Player honor for three consecutive years, a testament to her leadership, skill, and consistency on the ice. Additionally, she was named assistant captain in her sophomore year and earned the role of team captain during her senior year, further showcasing her leadership both on and off the ice.
After finishing her third season at Brown, Shay used the extra year of eligibility granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic to transfer to Quinnipiac University, where she played for one additional season and earned the MVP honor for her outstanding contributions to the team.
Following her collegiate career, Shay made the leap to professional hockey, signing a contract to play in Sweden’s SDHL, the highest women’s league in the country. There, she adapted quickly to the fast-paced European game and further honed her skills.
After a successful season in Sweden, Shay entered the 2024 PWHL Draft and was selected to join the Boston Fleet, where she currently plays at the highest level of women’s professional hockey. Known for her relentless work ethic, hockey IQ, and leadership abilities, Shay continues to make her mark in the PWHL.
Off the ice, Shay remains deeply committed to giving back to the hockey community and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
