VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH
Born in Irvington, New York, Pierson Brandon has built a career defined by elite defensive play, leadership, and a relentless commitment to team success. His hockey journey began with the North Jersey Avalanche, a well-established, high-tier youth organization known for developing top-level talent.
Brandon advanced to the North American Hockey League (NAHL), where he played for the Aberdeen Wings. During his time with the team, he helped secure the program’s first-ever Robertson Cup championship. He led the team in blocked shots, hits, and recorded a remarkable +49 plus-minus rating, setting a new benchmark for two-way performance. The following season, he was named an alternate captain, finishing his junior career with 53 points in 111 games.
He continued his career at the NCAA Division I level with Colgate University, where he quickly established himself as one of the nation’s top defensive defensemen. As a freshman, he was named the ECAC’s Best Defensive Defenseman and set a program record with 83 blocked shots in a single season. In his junior year, serving as an alternate captain, Brandon helped lead Colgate to an ECAC Championship—the program’s first in 33 years and only the second in its history. He went on to serve as team captain his senior year before transferring to UMass Lowell for his fifth season, where he also wore the captain’s “C.” Across his NCAA career, he totaled 54 points, including 19 goals, while earning multiple team leadership and league honors.
Brandon is currently playing professionally with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL, continuing to bring his leadership, toughness, and defensive reliability to the next level.
