MIKE O’LEARY
VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH
Mike currently plays in Finland’s top league (Liiga) with Ilves, and has previously spent parts of 5 seasons in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Iowa Wild and Milwaukee Admirals. Mike knows exactly what it takes to compete at the highest levels. Being a centerman himself, Mike specializes in faceoffs, offering unique insight into different ways to have success in the faceoff dot. As a video coach, he provides detailed, personalized breakdowns of players shifts by highlighting strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and offering pro-level insights that can accelerate a player’s development. Whether a player is aiming to move up to junior, college, pro or simply wants to elevate their hockey IQ, Mike’s goal is to help them play smarter, faster, and more confidently.
Before turning pro, Mike played four seasons at the University of Notre Dame, where he joined as a true freshman and became a core part of the team’s success while earning a management consulting degree. During his collegiate career, Notre Dame reached: 1× Frozen Four Final, 1× Frozen Four Semi-Final, 1× NCAA Regional Final, 2× Big Ten Playoff Championships and 1× Big Ten Regular Season Championship
Mike’s path to college hockey started in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, where he helped lead the team to the league finals and was selected to compete in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Before that, he played two dominant seasons at the prestigious Salisbury School, winning back-to-back New England championships. Mike was drafted 14th overall in the first round of the QMJHL Entry Draft and was selected to represent Team Canada at the U17 level. At every stage of his journey, video analysis played a key role in his development—and now he’s focused on using that same tool to help the next generation of players reach their full potential.
