VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH

Billy Girard IV is a professional hockey goaltender and dedicated goalie coach from Boca Raton, Florida. Raised in a non-traditional hockey market, Billy developed his game between the pipes from an early age, eventually earning the opportunity to train under NHL goalie coach Robb Tallas. He later worked alongside Tallas at elite summer camps, laying the foundation for his coaching career.

At 16 years old, Billy was selected to represent Team USA at the Five Nations Tournament, a milestone that propelled him into prep school hockey at South Kent School with Selects Academy. He went on to play junior hockey across top leagues including the BCHL, NCDC, and EHL before making his mark at the University of New England, where he was a standout goaltender. During his time there, he helped lead the program to a conference championship and back-to-back Frozen Four appearances, while earning All-Conference honors three times and being named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award. Billy completed his fifth year of NCAA eligibility at Boston University before advancing to the professional ranks, playing in the SPHL and currently competing in the ECHL with the Maine Mariners.

Alongside his playing career, Billy has built a strong coaching résumé that dates back to his late teenage years. Today, he works with youth, prep, and junior-level goaltenders through private lessons, focusing on developing the complete goalie. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the technical, mental, and emotional component of the position—helping goalies perform at their highest level both on and off the ice.
