BEN FREEMAN
VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH
Ben Freeman is a professional hockey player in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Currently Ben is playing for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits which is an affiliate of the LA Kings (NHL) team. He has gained valuable leadership experiences including leading the Swamp Rabbits, as captain, to a first place regular season finish in the Southern Division. In addition to his four years of professional hockey and counting, Ben Graduated from The University of Connecticut in 2020.
At Uconn, Ben, also known as Freeze, played in 135 games, he was assistant captain his junior year, and captain his senior year. His senior year he led the Huskies Hockey East team in points, and all of Hockey East in faceoffs won. After his freshman year, Ben attended the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp. Following his sophomore and junior seasons he also attended the Calgary Flames Development camps.
For the past four summers he has been a personal trainer and coach at a performance gym in Falmouth, Maine, called Beyond Strength. At Beyond Strength Ben would write hockey specific programs for a range of skill levels from house to division one to professional hockey players. In addition to writing hockey specific programs, Ben would travel to various summer camps and lead off ice training sessions focused on strength training and mobility. This experience allows for Ben to provide key insights for his video analysis, linking off ice and ice performance for clients.
Ben graduated from the University of Connecticut Business School with a degree in Healthcare Management, and is currently pursuing his MBA at Uconn with a concentration in Business Analytics.
His video experience includes training and first hand experience from NHL video coaches. In addition to his daily exposure to professional hockey coaching perspectives, Ben knows what it takes to play division one hockey and what it is the coaches are looking for and what they don’t want to see!
